Black-browed Barbet or Müller's Barbet (Megalaima oorti)

The Black-browed Barbet or Müller's Barbet (Megalaima oorti) is a bird belonging to the Asian barbet family, Megalaimidae.

The Chinese name for the bird, "five-colored bird" (五色鳥) refers to the five colors seen on its plumage.

The plumage is mostly green apart from the head which is patterned with blue, yellow and red. There is a black stripe above the eye.

Because of its colorful plumage and that its call resembles that of a percussion instrument known as a wooden fish, the species is also referred to as the "spotted monk of the forest" in Taiwan.

The bill is black and the feet are grey-green.

It has a scattered distribution in south-eastern Asia.  It inhabits tropical and subtropical forests. It forages in the upper and middle levels of the canopy.

It excavates a nest hole in a tree but little else is known about its breeding habits.

another record shots...

The Banded KingfisherLacedo pulchella, is a tree kingfisher found in the lowland tropical forests. It is the only member of the genus Lacedo.

The Banded Kingfisher is a 20 cm long kingfisher with a sturdy red bill and a short crest which is slowly raised and lowered. It shows striking sexual dimorphism compared to most of its relatives. The nest is a hole in a rotting tree trunk, or sometimes in the spherical nest of tree termites. Two to five white eggs are laid. This is a bird of lowland rainforest found up to 1700 m its . Unlike most kingfishers, it does not need pools or streams in its territory.
The Banded Kingfisher hunts large insects and occasionally small lizards, usually taken in the trees, but sometimes from the ground.
